Above: Paul Robles, Untitled #7 (from Paper Tigers series), 2008, Digital Print on bamboo paper, 27" x 36" Paul Robles studied sociology at the University of Winnipeg (BA '92) and visual arts at The University of Manitoba (BFA '96). His work has been exhibited at Plug In ICA, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Outpost for Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, The New Gallery in Calgary AB, and the exhibition Dialogues: the Changing Face of Canadian Contemporary Art at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. His work is also subject of a CBC ArtSpots artist profile which may be viewed online, http://www.cbc.ca/artspots. Robles has been awarded various grants from both the Manitoba & Winnipeg Arts Councils, and in is the collections of Canada Council's Art Bank and St John's College, University of Manitoba. Robles recently returned from a month-long research and residency in People's Republic of China (Apr '07) and for the summer of 2008 his work will be developed into Public Art, as an artist bike rack for the City of Winnipeg.
